Packing up for SwimVacation
Hello Future SwimVacationers!
I've developed a little ritual I like to do as I prepare for a SwimVacation trip: I arrange all of my equipment and stuff for the week on the floor of my studio and snap a quick pic. As team photographer, I have nearly my weight in luggage. These are the things I need to photo-document the exciting week we have ahead of us. Luckily for me, fellow guide Will Thomas and I

have the same itinerary to the islands. I like to make Will lug my heaviest bag (Thanks, Willy T!).
Luckily for you, you're headed to the BVI to swim and relax on a well appointed yacht. You can literally carry everything you'll need in one carry-on sized back pack. We recommend (in addition to your passport!) a few bathing suits, 2 pairs of goggles, sunglasses, a hat, a pair of shorts and a few t-shirts. Perhaps a journal and a good book. Bring a camera if you like, but also rest assured you'll have plenty of stunning images from your trip coming your way. You'll zip through airport security and be glad you packed light when you step out of the plane into that first blast of tropical heat.
That is one of my favorite moments of travel - stepping onto the tarmac having landed in a new place. The door opens, and I get my first breath of somewhere else. The BVI is a place where I get to dust off my adventurous spirit. I rediscover the parts of myself I'd forgotten about when I jump in the clear blue sea...
Ok, back to packing all this junk into two small (dense) bags (sorry, Will!). Tomorrow I'll begin my journey south, and by Sunday we'll all be together aboard Promenade. Travel light, friends. You don't need much to make the most of SwimVacation.
